How to Avoid the Trap

How to Avoid the Trap

How to avoid His Trap  1 Peter 5:8

I remember hearing about the Devil long before I got saved. He was more like a fairy tale. But it did not take long after I got saved to realize he is real. The Bible give us good clear information on this evil foe. We are told that he was created by God as an Angel. In fact he was an anointed Cherub. We are told that he was lifted up with pride. He was not satisfied with his position he wanted to be like God. We are told that he was expelled from heaven. In fact Jesus told us he saw Satan fall like lightening. We are told that he has become the Arch Enemy of God,    and the enemy of every Child of God.  In 1 Peter 5:8  the Devil is described as a roaring Lion. A lion works to trap its prey. The Lion backs its prey into a corner where the pod is waiting.  We may not be able to keep him from attacking. But we can be aware of his strategy to trap us.

Allow me to share a few Biblical rules to keep in mind:

  1. Do not Stray: Psalm 119:67
  2. Do Not Strut: Prov. 16:18
  3. Do Not Stoop: Romans 12:21
  4. Do Not Stop:  Luke  19:13
